Roast, a book of British classics was created alongside then-head-chef, Marcus Verberne. Either shot on location or onsite at the Borough Market restaurant, the book journeys into the food on the menu by exploring the producers that supply the ingredients. From foraging on the south coast to scallops and grouse in Scotland, the book gives an insight into the integrity of this landmark restaurants dishes. Alongside step-by-step imagery on how to master techniques, the recipes explain how to cook for large numbers, as well key methods to achieve the dishes that make it famous.
THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY
For seven years Lisa Barber shot the food pages with chef Skye Gyngell for the Independent on Sunday Review Magazine. The features were ingredient led with a focus on seasonality. This collaboration saw Skye and Lisa visited many different countries including Scotland, France, Italy and Australia.
Spelt was produced with Nourish (of Watkins Media) and Roger Saul of Sharpham Park; a trusted expert in this wonder grain. It celebrates the resurrection of this sometimes overlooked ingredient and encompasses the range of baking and cooking possibilities. Shot to a very specific style and brief, the imagery reflects the texture and organic roots of the grain.
SHRUB & SHUTTER
Following the success of their drinks consultancy, Salts of the Earth, Chris Edwards and Dave Tregenza opened a restaurant and cocktail bar, The Shrub & Shutter in September 2014 at 336 Cold Harbour Lane in Brixton. Known for its innovative modern British cuisine it also serves an exciting array of bespoke cocktails. Lisa was commissioned to create a montage of images capturing the essence and style of the restaurant.
Lexington Catering is an award-winning contract catering team of over 750 staff based in London and the South-East, delivering fantastic fresh and healthy food to an enviable client base. Images were created alongside the chefs and marketing team to reflect the company's innovative catering style.
Both portraits of the team and food were carefully designed for use on the website, in documents and enlarged for wall art in clients dining areas.

Lisa Barber worked closely with the experienced food writer Michael Raffael on this magazine feature. Many of the commissioned features are masterclasses that involved working with famous chefs including Marco Pierre White, Tom Aikens, Clare Symth, Guy Savoy, Marcus Wareing and Anne-Sophie Pic.
Seven Michelin-star and celebrity chefs take the reader on an unforgettable gastronomic tour across India, Australia, the UK and the US. Lisa was one of the food photographers commissioned to photograph Michelin-star chefs Vineet Bhatia, Laurie Gear and Anjum Anand.
